Ski Trip 2018

Last week saw another hugely successful Transition Year Ski Trip to Ehrwald, Austria.

96 students embarked on a fantastic week in the early hours of Saturday morning flying from Cork to Munich and then onward to Austria.

Sunday was the first day of skiing and it became apparent very quickly that this was a group that would progress very quickly. Throughout the week the instructors continually remarked how good the skiing was and how good the students were, one of them even declared that “this is like a paid week of holidays!”

One of our group, Nick Orth, even broke the visitor record for the slalom with an amazing time of 26.77 seconds, only narrowly bettered by two of the instructors.

Our evenings saw a variety of Apres Ski activity including Lermoos ski show, swimming, rifle shooting, pizza evening and ski presentation night which kept us entertained throughout the week.

Many thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Sonnenburg Hotel but especially to Daniella, Mido and Donato.

Thanks also to all the teachers who made the trip possible but especially to Mr. Warren for the huge amount of organisation that goes into the trip.

Last but not least thanks to all 96 students who made this an amazing trip with their outstanding behaviour & timekeeping. You made this a fantastic trip and deserve great credit.
