Curriculum Options

Each pupil has an equal entitlement to the possibility of high achievement. First year pupils are placed in mixed-ability classes. They are assessed for literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills.

 

If it is deemed necessary after consultation with their parents and guardians, they may be helped by a specialist teacher. Homework is compulsory, and parents and guardians are encouraged to make regular checks on homework diaries.

Where classwork and homework do not reach acceptable standards, the class tutor may place the pupil on a Report Card which has to be checked and signed by parents/guardians each week. This system enables parents, class teachers and the tutor to monitor progress.
