Hockey

Our first year girls team under the expert tutilage of Mr. Warren beat Ashton 1-0 on Wednesday 24th at home. The winning goal came from Dion Carey and the team was captained by Ciara Houstoun.

 

Christmas Dinner and Party

This years Christmas Dinner and Parties will be an event for boarders and day pupils alike. Day pupils and boarders will share a dinner and then a party and disco to round off the evening)

 

The Junior party will take place on December 9th while the Seniors have their evening on December 14th.

The cost is €5 per pupil and two fantastic evenings are expected.

 

Scholarship

Former pupil Peter Tanner (Leaving Cert Class 2010) was recently awarded an entrance scholarship in UCD. This is a fantastic for peter and at the ceremony in Dublin the school was represented by distinguished former teacher Mr. John Glynn. A sincere thanks to Mr. Glynn who received a nice plaque for the school. We also wish Peter every success in the future.

 

Parade of Champions

A special thanks goes to our Senior Boys rugby and GAA and our Junior Boys athletics representatives who appeared in the recent Parade of Champions held in Bandon on behalf of our winning teams from the past year.

 

Geography

Two extremely successful form VI Geography field trips to Garretstown have been completed recently. These field trips make up 20% of Geography course work. There is one group left for this years trips and a special thanks must go to Mrs. Redmond and Mrs. Powell for all their hard work in organising this
