Leaving Cert Class 2009

The Leaving Certificate class of 2009 celebrated their Graduation Ball at the Clarion Hotel on Thursday 6th August and  were the most eager group ever to line up for their results on 12th August. There was much relief that English results were not adversely affected by the drama in June. Once again there was much delight at the very high level of achievement. Among those with over 500 points are Nigel Bateman (515), Sandra Brookes(580), Ruth Corcoran (550), Tansy Greenlee (580), Constantin Kauf (515), Kate Murphy (550) and Lucas Schulze-Roebbecke (590).  Lucas, Tansy and Sandra recorded as astounding 20 grades at higher level between them !

The percentage who achieved their honours grade at higher level was the highest ever at 90% and less than 1% of such subject papers were failed.  Equally pleasing were fine performances by students who had found school courses very challenging and frustrating.  Congratulations to all the class of 2009 and go out into life with Gods blessing.

A record number of pupils begin school on August 31st and we wish returning and new pupils a highly successful and happy year ahead.
