APPOINTMENT OF NEW DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Deputy Principal Appointment

The Board of Directors and Board of Management at Bandon Grammar School are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Eileen Collins as new Deputy Principal. Ms Collins, a native of Timoleague, has worked in education for over 20 years. Most recently, Eileen was Deputy Principal in St Aloysius’ College, Carrigtwohill and prior to that Deputy Principal in Loreto Secondary School, Navan. She is an associate member of the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) assisting with training to newly qualified Deputy Principals.

Eileen has considerable experience in a variety of school settings and in all areas of school life. A qualified Guidance Counsellor and a teacher of Science and Maths, she spent much of her teaching career in Cabinteely, Dublin and later in Rossa College, Skibbereen. Passionate about her subjects she was secretary of the Dublin branch of the Irish Science Teachers’ Association (ISTA) and national secretary of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC).

She holds a degree in Industrial Biochemistry from the University of Limerick, Higher Diploma in Education and Masters in Guidance Counselling from University College Cork and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from Maynooth University.

Ms Collins is looking forward to joining Bandon Grammar School and working alongside current Deputy Principal Mr. Donal Warren and incoming Principal Mrs. Niamh McShane.
