The annual end of year School & Sports Awards have always been a big part of our school year. Sports and teaching staff select the winners and there is a Presentation Ceremony in the Sunken Garden at the end of the year. Recipients are selected to celebrate their achievements in Sport over year, but also to honour those within the pupil population who have excelled in other areas too. Students are honoured for their selection on various national teams, and we also have Junior and Senior Sports Merit Awards, The Watson Cup, Hawkins Shield, Johnston Cup, Crowley Trophy, Giles Trophy and many more. The David Smyth Memorial Cup is awarded to our ‘Student of the Year’ after an interview process with our Guidance Counsellor, two 6th year students and a Board of Management member.

STUDENT PREFECTS/ AMBASSADORS
Each year, we select 6th year students that best represent our school ethos with each ambassador receiving a ‘green tie’. “To develop as well rounded individuals within a community where moral values such as honesty, fairness, personal integrity and sensitivity to the needs of others are nurtured. Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility, leading to growth in confidence and self-esteem so that individuals may come to excel in different ways, able to make optimum use of life opportunities”.
