Lord Mayors Cup Champions 2010
Bandon Grammar travelled to Parc Ui Rinn on Wednesday April 28th to defend the Lord Mayors Cup (GaelicFootball) title they had won for the first time the previous year. Hopes were high as an experienced squad many of whom won the title last year was available for selection.
First group Game
| Bandon Grammar School 3-6 | CBC 1-5 |

In a tough first game BGS started brightly but found the conditions difficulty as the rain fell. Both teams kicked plenty of wides and the difference between the two teams proved to be the finishing of Cathal Duggan who scored an excellent 3-1. We had started with a win but all knew a big improvement was needed.
In the next group game Pres beat Christians 5-4 to 0-4 so the final game in the group stage was not required as both Bandon Grammar and Pres were guarenteed passage to the final.
Final
| Bandon Grammar School 5-11 | PBC 1-7 |
| Scorers F.O'Leary 0-6 D. Von Behr 2-0 C.Duggan 2-0 C. Stallard 1-2 K.Desmond 0-2 C. Houston 0-1 |
In the final BGS came flying out of the blocks and early points from Conal Houston and Fionn O'Leary set the tone for an impressive display. PBC never recovered and BGS led by 1-8 to 0-2 at half time, the only goal of the half coming from ace marksman Cathal Duggan when he stole the ball of the toe of Dietrich 'Dmitri' Von Behr.
In the second half BGS really took control with excellnt performances from Fionn O'Leary, Conor Stallard, Aidan Walsh, Eoin O'Mahony, the Godsil brothers and Kerry Desmond.
In a final flourish Dmitri Von Behr added two spectacular goals becoming the first German to score a goal on the hallowed ground of Parc Ui Rinn.
Well done to all the boys on retaining the Cup and we look forward to competing for it again next year.
