Bandon Grammar School

Transition Year

The Transition Year Programme is a compulsory 4th year of education at Bandon Grammar School. It is a distinct one-year programme designed to give students a bridge from junior to senior cycle. It aims to give students an opportunity to broaden their skill set, embrace a range of challenges and opportunities and sample subjects offered in senior cycle which they may not have experienced before along with building a sense of responsibility for their own learning and decision making. - Modern Foreign Language (French or German or Spanish)

Work Experience 

Work experience is a wonderful opportunity for students to experiment and explore areas of ‘real life’ work as potential for them. 

The dates for work experience in 2023/2024 year are: 

Monday 18th – Friday 22nd December 2023 

Monday 18th – Friday 22nd March 2024 

Monday 27th- Friday 31st May 2024

Transition year is also a great opportunity to explore external courses, it’s an exploration into diverse fields giving our students a chance to explore something new & different throughout the academic year.
